Rebellious regions. Ethnography of the political identity and the territorial construction of the "Llanos del Yarí, Colombia"

Los llanos del Yarí es una región en donde la guerra entre el Estado colombiano y la guerrilla de las FARC se vive con especial intensidad. El escenario del conflicto armado involucra a comunidades campesinas que a lo largo de su historia han padecido distintas etapas y múltiples eventos de violencia política. Esta tipo particular de violencia hace las veces de una matriz común y compartida desde la que se construyen subjetividades, identidades políticas y, en suma, el Yarí como territorio, tema central del artículo. Estas reflexiones son producto de una etnografía que rastrea la forma en que la violencia y las identidades políticas le imprimen un carácter particular a la región. El artículo contempla una exposición organizada en tres partes: un preludio, un interludio (que incluye cinco entreactos etnográficos) y un escenario analítico (dividido en tres actos que dan cuenta del Yarí como un territorio definido por la experiencia que contiene)."The Llanos del Yarí is a region experiencing with particular intensity the war between the Colombian state and the guerilla group FARC. This scenario involves peasant communities who have suffered throughout their history different stages and events of political violence. This particular kind of violence operates as a common and shared matrix through which people’s subjectivities, political identities, in short, the idea of the Yarí as a territory are built. This later element being the central issue of this article. These rteflections are the product of an ethnography that explores the way in which both violence and poliitcal identities shape a particular regional character. The article is organized in three sections: Prelude, interlude (that includes five ethnographic between sections) and Analytic Scenario (divided in three acts that portrary the Yarí region as a territory defined by the experience it contains.
